Alluri Sita Rama Raju!!

Here's an interesting anecdote on the occasion of birth anniversary of Sri Alluri Sitarama Raju.

My mother's grandfather Srirangam Venkata Jogi was the Inspector of Narsipatnam police station during the days of Alluri Sitarama Raju's revolt.

He was asked to catch him and accordingly he went in to the interiors KD Peta forests and through middlemen was able to meet Mr Sitarama Raju!! He was accorded a warm welcome by Mr Raju and they spent some time chatting. Thereafter Mr Jogi told him that he has come only to see him and not to arrest him! Then Mr Raju accompanied Mr Jogi to the edge of forest as otherwise he would've been killed by his army!!

As a punishment for this indiscipline Mr Jogi was transferred to Vijayanagaram. After some time a British officer kicked his colleague on the head whereupon his cap fell down. Mr Jogi immediately told that officer "today its the turn of my colleague and tomorrow I might also face the same fate at the hands of the Britishers"!! Saying that Mr Jogi resigned from the Police on the spot!! Thereafter he made a living by consulting on legal/police matters.

Unfortunately mobiles weren't there in those days so Mr Jogi couldn't take a selfie with Mr Sitarama Raju :(

NB: Please don't ask me for proof as I don't have any!! We don't even have my great grandfather's photograph :( Understand Mr Jogi's personal diaries were later on taken by Mr Arudra from a mutual relative and he later on wrote many detective stories (perhaps based on some of the cases!)
